Here's a little video I put together.
Something to think about...
"Implements that take their shape directly from their working contact with the substance they are made to deal with often express their purpose in simple and beautiful terms. In the strong hands of a blacksmith, iron is given a vitality that often transcends its use." C. Williams

Thanks, guys!
Great video!
I've never thought of making the striker arms round before.
Also I'm really intrigued with the way you overcame your anvil's lack of horn.
My railroad anvil has the same problem.

Thanks Aaron! One smith called them guerrilla tools. It really helps to have an arc welder. Endless possibilities then. I got mine at a garage sale for 35 bucks.
Great video! Thanks. Why does you anvil not have a horn?
~Hogan
Thanks, Hogan. I cut the horn off my anvil to make it more bladesmithing friendly. The anvil is one of those Russian jobs and the horn was pretty much useless anyway. It was short and shaped like a duck's bill. I modified it with an angle grinder and that helped. Finally, I just wacked it off.
Man, you're THE master ... good, good work!
